DETROIT September 29, 2005; HUMMER has announced a major milestone with the sale of its100,000 th H2 today. Since the H2’s launch in 2002, HUMMER has grown its model portfolio to include the H1 Alpha, H2 SUT and H3, and has expanded its dealer network to 167 dealer points.

This just in: The Hummer beast has been tamed. The monster that many have frowned upon for its size and impracticality has been scaled down and taught to behave well enough for families to drop off their kids at school, fit into a garage and be parked with ease at the mall. And its price fits nicely into the midsize sport-utility segment.
A 2006 limited edition of the Hummer H2 (pictured left), in SUV and sport-utility-truck (SUT) versions, goes on sale this week with a new color choice and unique features.
The price of the SUV version of the Pacific Blue edition will start at $65,900, Hummer said. SUT pricing on the special model will start at $65,455. The Pacific Blue SUV and SUT will have a combined production of 875 units, the GM brand said.

This special edition comes in SUV and SUT versions and maintains HUMMER’s trademark bold design and unmatched off-road capability. Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was critically injured last week in an auto accident that caused his Hummer to flip over along Route 711 in his native Virginia.
Born Michael Eugene Archer, D’Angelo was transported by helicopter to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in nearby Richmond, where he’s still being treated for his injuries, according to Sergeant Kevin Barrick, a Virginia State Police spokesperson.

According to the Sun News Online, Hummer is planning to launch a small, right-hand-drive off-roader for the UK, and sales of the H3 are expected to start in spring 2007, with a diesel-powered version expected in 2008.
