Dying to see what the 2009 Hummer H3T looks like when it finally becomes available at your local Hummer dealer? Well you’re in luck, because someone snapped a photo of it, and the guys at worldcarfans has it (see the thumbnail to your left and a bigger picture below). I personally think it looks okay, but nothing to get overly excited about. Then again, the finished version could look so much better, who knows.

Leave it to “open-minded” environmental activists to show you just what being close-minded is like up close and personal. Here’s an article about some guy in Washington, D.C. who had his 2005 Hummer H2 SUT vandalized by a couple of “eco thugs” one night, just a scant 5 days after the poor guy bought the truck. A list of the damages they caused included:

J.D. Power and Associates released their 2007 report on the most useful automotive websites for new car buyers, and Hummer.com (home of, of course, GM and the Hummer trucks) came up on top. So how did Hummer did? It ranked highest with an index score of 870 on a 1,000-point scale — a 5-point improvement from Wave 1 of the study, which was released in January 2007. Coming in a close second was the Toyota website with 858, followed by Jeep (856), Suzuki (855), Land Rover (854), and Lexus (853).

Love the H3 Alpha SUV but don’t dig the lack of power? Well you’re in luck. For 2008, General Motors is equipping the 2008 version of their popular H3 Alpha SUV with a V-8 engine. That means a new 5.3-liter, small-block V-8 that will yield 300 horsepower and 320 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm.

I’m always a little amused and slightly irritated when people mention the words “Hummer” and “Green” in the same sentence. Can you REALLY have one WITH the other? Or maybe the better question is, WHY would you want to? I’m not saying we should all go out and trash the planet, but what the hell is the point of driving a monster like the Hummer if you’re going to be going nuts over the environment every other day? Anyways, the latest news from GM is that they plan to make the Hummer H4 Green-friendly.
The 2008 Hummer H2 is out, and Autoweek has your look at what’s new for 2008, and what stayed the same. Most notably, the interior of the 2008 has been re-defined, or as Hummer rep Jim Dolot puts it, “It did not give them a feeling of a $55,000, $60,000 vehicle.” Yeah, I’m gonna have to agree with that. Exterior wise, there were minor tweaks to the grille and lower front bumper, but nothing that would ruin the original “look” of the H2.

I didn’t notice it before, but one of the Autobots in the new upcoming Michael Bay live-action version of the Transformers is a Hummer H2! The Hummer is the vehicle disguise for the autobot (that is, one of the good guys) called Rachet. Here’s Rachet in his Hummer H2 form, live-action pictures, toys, and Rachet as a robot. Pretty cool, huh? All the stuff on top threw me off for a moment, but this site here reminded me of it.

Here’s the official press release for Hummer’s upcoming Hummer HT1 Mobilephone:
DETROIT, Michigan and PARIS, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — HUMMER, a division of General Motors Corporation, announces the launch of the very first mobile phone exclusively designed and distributed by the CDM – Customized Design Manufacturer – ModeLabs Group.
A Hummer-themed cellphone? Hmm, why not? Here’s a review of it over at Handecellphone.com:
We might get used seeing sports car manufacturers unearthing expensive limited edition phones (Ferrari Phone and Porsche Phone), but it is kind of feeling special seeing truck maker, Hummer releases its first cellular phone, Hummer HT1. The Hummer HT1 phone is made designed by French corporation, Modelabs and Hummer.
The folks over at The Car Connection have your first pictures of the new 2009 Hummer H3T, and they look pretty sweet. Head over there now to check out the pictures. Meanwhile, here’s what the 2009 Hummer H3T has to offer:
Although the original concept was a short-bed pickup with just two doors, economic decisions made the four-door H3 variant much more affordable to produce. The short bed will offer a cargo area of roughly 4 feet wide by 4 feet long. A hard tonneau cover will be available as an option, as will several choices of lockable cargo boxes.
