GM’s unleashing the Hummer H3 Alpha at the 2007 New York Auto Show. The Hummer H3 Alpha is a reworking of the H3, and is supposed to make the latest Hummer line faster and more powerful. Here’s Inside Line‘s article on the H3 Alpha’s debut:
GM released few details about its “top dog” H3 Alpha on Tuesday, noting only that it will be equipped with a 295-hp V8 and have Hummer’s “trademark off-road capability.” In comparison, the 2007 Hummer H3 is equipped with a 3.7-liter inline-5 engine that makes 242 hp. It returns 15 mpg in city driving and 19 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. Hummer has not yet released fuel economy numbers on the H3 Alpha, but they should be of considerable interest.

We’ve all heard about the Prius, haven’t we? That darling little vehicle of the eco-friendly group, i.e. the car you should be driving unless you’re a selfish and bad, bad, bad man. Or some crap like that that the eco nuts want you to believe. But wait, maybe it’s all wrong — maybe the Prius is actually WORST for the environment than the Hummer. Can this be even possible? Let’s see.
Okay, it’s not exactly a duel to the death, but it’s close. The guys over at Cars.com recently did a side by side by side comparison between the Dodge Nitro, the Hummer H3, and the Toyota FJ Cruiser. And the winner is…? Well, DUH. It’s the H3 by a mile, of course.
