South Africa Queues up for H3 Hummer
Looks like everyone’s wild about the new H3 Hummer, especially in South Africa, where General Motors has already filled up orders for the first 2 months’ worth of manufactured H3 Hummers.
According to Wheels24:
General Motors South Africa claims that interest in the Hummer H3 continues to grow and that South Africans are queuing to buy it.According to GMSA, which will build the H3 at its manufacturing facility in Port Elizabeth, interest in the vehicle has grown to such an extent that the first two months planned supply is already committed.
South African H3 production for global consumption and export kicks off in the middle of 2006 in left hand drive. From early 2007 GMSA will start production of right hand drive Hummers too.
GMSA says that the benefit of local production should translate into a “substantial pricing advantage” over the vehicles largely imported competition.
Local distribution outlets for Hummer H3 will be rolled out during 2007 to cover all major centres in South Africa and is seen as an integral part of GMSA?s premium brand strategy.
